Step 1: Remove Sealing Foil

Remove one of the Twincap's tamper-evident sealing foils to access a sterile surface—no disinfection needed. Both ports are identical and can be used irrespectively for drug preparation or infusion.

Step 2: Spiking the Container for Use

Stabilize the Ecoflac Plus by gripping its neck. Insert the infusion set straight—avoid angling or twisting. The port reseals within seconds after the set is removed.

Step 3: Hang and Prime

Raise the IV pole to keep Ecoflac 8-12" above the primary. Prime. Close the roller clamp. Connect the secondary set to the upper Y-site and the primary set to the patient. Open clamps and adjust flow.

Step 4: Preparing for Secondary Infusion

To ensure Ecoflac collapses properly, open the secondary set vent. Clamp the primary line to prevent concurrent sympathetic flow. Always verify secondary flow by inspecting the drip chamber.

Step 5: During Infusion

To ensure complete delivery of medication, the Ecoflac Plus container must remain vertical while infusing.

Step 6: Dispose Used Products

At the end of the infusion, dispose of the used products as per facility protocol.
